I Drew People Around the World is the creation of Andrew Wicklund, a Seattle-based designer and art teacher with a thirst for sketching and exploring new countries. This book is for aspiring artists and intrepid travelers, or both. Anyone who wants to learn the basics of drawing, but doesn’t know where to start. Anyone who picked up a journal in advance of vacation but never managed to fill it.
This signed and numbered limited edition 24 x 18-inch silkscreen poster chronicles a spectacular 12 hours of KEXP (kexp.org / 90.3 FM Seattle) programming that celebrates the music that Chuck D has created, inspired and touched in his career. As KEXP describes the day:
Only the first two songs for Six Degrees of Chuck D are selected. The day began at 6:00 AM Pacific with “War” by Chuck D, featuring Ambersunshower, followed by a collaboration between Ambersunshower and Tricky. Following that, DJs seek connections on the fly, always with the aim of returning to a song that features Chuck D.
The day continued until 6 pm, and I documented each song and artist that was played — creating a mural over 15 feet wide and 10 feet tall.
This poster was redrawn from that original artwork so that it could be reproduced as a beautiful 2-color silkscreened poster. Only 500 printed.
